The Hunter Olive Association is an association of olive growers throughout the Hunter Valley. The Association organises field days, publishes a bi-monthly newsletter and is here for the benefit of olive growers and olive lovers generally.

Our growers produce olives suitable for both olive oil and table, fresh and pickling olives in a wide variety of locations throughout the Hunter Valley. We have information about olive trees, Australian olive oil, locally grown and pickled olives, technical assistance, new plantings, pests and diseases.

We also provide information on how to grow olives, how to process the oil and where to get help, as well as links to other regional associations and our national body, the Australian Olive Association.

Each year there are a number of regular events for olive growers and producers. Most notable are:

  • The Hunter Valley Olive Show - entries need to be in by late August to allow time for testing and judging with the results announced during September.

  • Australian Olive Expo, held in conjunction with the AGM of Australian Olive Association, the location moves each year

  • Hunter Olive Association AGM, Hunter Valley - held towards the end of May, this is our annual get-together to elect a committee and present to members the results of our last 12 months work.

  • Members workshop days - hands on workshops covering specific topics including pruning, nutrition, irrigation, pest & disease control, marketing and any other subject the membership wishes to discuss.
