Hunter Olive Ass. Newsletter Feb 2021

Hunter Olive Association Update.

There have been multiple calls from across the region of Lace Bug infestation. This can be devastating in the grove if not caught early, and with Harvest time approaching with-holding times for some agents have to be considered. The suppliers of these agents are usually very helpful, both with organic and non organic products. Martin Mead, an agronomist at Farmland(previously Farmer’s Warehouse) at Rutherglen, has been in discussion with Peter Herborn and is intending to be present at Hunter’s Dream on 7th March,
This is also a reminder of the Hunter Valley Soil Field Day 7th March at Hunter’s Dream, on Deasy’s Road.
Registration is through the A.O.A, It will be a full and very interesting day, plus a chance to discuss the upcoming harvest regarding optimum timing, pre harvest spraying with our olive association’s experts who will be attending.

Looking forward to seeing you there, Wishing all members a bountiful 2021.
