Hunter Olive Association Olive Show 2021

 

 

The Hunter Olive Association end of year award presentation last week was hosted at Tintilla, after a record number of entries ,and two Covid delays with judging, a tribute to Head Judge and Steward, Steve Mitchell and Alan Smith.

 

Congratsulations to all how won medals and trophies. 

 

The evening was very well attended, there were a number of new members present. The excellent standard was reflected in the high number of awards. Unfortunately our guest speaker, who was to discuss the tasting attributes of the winning oils could not attend. However we were fortunate to have Mr Steve Smith ,the new manager of Adina, who spoke very encouragingly about Adina’s future role with Hunter olives.

 

Despite this end of year high point, looking back there were  problems around the harvest, in an attempt to prevent this happening in 2022, a committee led by Peter Herborn has been addressing the multiple factors involved. Before Christmas there will be a newsletter outlining findings and notice of a Field Day for early 2022 circulated, wishing everyone a safe, happy Christmas and New Year.
